Get Involved in DeKalb Chamber of Commerce!
The DeKalb Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is looking for volunteers to serve on the many committees that are being formed. Now is your chance to become directly involved in the services, projects and activities that help make the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce a true “customer service” organization. Simply send us an email with the committee(s) you want to be involved in.
Works with members to review Chamber benefits and determine member needs. Ambassadors also act as greeters for the monthly Business After Hours events, assist with ribbon-cutting ceremonies and serve as mentors for new members. Meetings are held monthly.
Identify issues, discuss and come back to the board with information to see if the Chamber should take a position. Meetings are held monthly.
The Chamber provides a forum for individuals from member businesses to exchange referrals to increase the business of those involved in the group. This referral group offers members an avenue to meet with other members to help drive business to each other through each group members' connections and network. These committees meet regularly during the 3-5 months prior to the event.
Plans and hosts annual event in November to honor one local business person with the ATHENA Award and one or more businesspeople with the Women of Accomplishment Award. Activities include soliciting nominations, invitations, media contact, site selection, arranging awards, food, decorations, program, greeting and registration.
Plans and hosts trade show event in May, including invitations, site selection, booth space rental and layout, advertising, arranging prizes, food, decorations, program, greeting and registration.
Plans and hosts annual Golf Outing in June, including soliciting prizes and hole sponsors, arranging invitations, ticket sales, signage, golf carts, refreshments, dinner, program, greeting and registration.
