DeKalb Chamber Leadership Class Graduates 23

    The ninth class of the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Academy was honored June 12th, with a luncheon and graduation ceremony in the Café 900 Conference Center at the University Plaza. Maximizing employee potential and encouraging active participation in business and the community are among the goals of the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Academy.

     The 23 members of the Class of 2012-2013 are: Shannon Barnaby – The Foster & Buick Law Group; Michael Cullen Jr. – NB&T; Lindsey Engelsman – Re:New DeKalb; Robin Franklin – IDEAL Industries; David Galica – Armor Technologies; Tatum Glas – KishHealth System; Greg Herring – Huskie Athletics; Joe Inboden – Inboden's Meats; Leah Jordal – Voluntary Action Center; Mandy Kakac – Northern Rehab Physical Therapy Specialists; Diana King – Family Service Agency; Carolyn Leist – Kishwaukee Community Hospital; Liz LeMay – OSP Services; Mark Mattson – Creative Therapeutics; Mary Jo McAdams – NB&T; Bruce McCord – Sonoco Alloyd; Heather Ferguson – Kishwaukee College; Laura Nesbitt – MorningStar Media Group; Eric Olson – Daily Chronicle; Brian Oster – OC Imageworks; Kathleen Patterson – Castle Bank; Christina Severson – Provident Direct; and Matthew Wray - Frontier Communications.

     Course topics include: conflict management and negotiating skills, personal leadership styles, public speaking, leveraging technology in business, area government, non-profits, education and healthcare agencies work, and local employment.

     The Chamber is now accepting applications for our tenth Leadership class. The nine month Leadership Academy will begin meeting in September. The process begins by visiting the Chamber website (www.dekalb.org) to submit/download an application or by calling the Chamber at (815)756-6306 to obtain an application form. Letters of Recommendation are also available on the website. Deadline for receiving completed applications is Aug. 3, 2013.
